Fieldwork Notes: People of Bishan

One thing is certain, the people of Bishan Village on the foot of the Yellow Mountains are all different. They come from different educational backgrounds, economical backgrounds, family backgrounds and so forth and those who know about Ou Ning's Bishan Project all have very different views on it and how it should develop and be a part of the village. So when people ask: "What do the villagers think?", there is no singular answer to that question, and as the local village historian, Wang Shouchang, pointed out to me, "Ou Ning is also a villager".
